Florid -- florid oratorical style of Mr. Mulroney. It was a 19th Century style. I think it would have been very effective on the back of a train, and maybe his handlers should have been smart and put him on a train, and let him speak across the nation. But that's because he spent his life in business and I, many times, have told business people that becoming a politician -- being a politician -- is exactly like being a business person. It's a learned art. It's a skill -- you have to work at it. It's not something you can walk out of an office one day and decide to be a politician. That's why Jean Chrétien is so successful and Brian Mulroney was not. Brian Mulroney walked out of 17 boardrooms and became prime minister. Jean Chrétien has had 30 years in the trenches. He knows where all the bodies are buried, and he's not about to make a major mistake.
